First Poem, Celebrating National Poetry Month: “We have swallowed / a dream…”

Whooooosssshhhhh.

Did you hear that? That was the sound my nerves falling into relaxation and celebration that it is April! And tulips, crocuses, and daffodils are emerging! My big deadlines are past! And we get to celebrate National Poetry Month together, perhaps even in contemplative joy. I know I will be.

Whoosh. That was the sound of my poetry book proposal being sent off to the editors at the Festival of Faith and Writing, and (smaller whoosha trio of poems soaring over to the team at The Poet’s Billow as an entry in the Bermuda Triangle contest.

For National Poetry Month, I’ll be celebrating by writing and posting a poem every day. And there will be a book giveaway thrown in here at some point, so come visit often.

I’ll leave you with this.
